Entry 5: I DID IT
The Day Has Finally Come
After a few days of a break, I have gotten back to throwing cards at apples, and to my surprise, I did it! From about 4 feet away, and with a hit ratio of 1:17.6 (5 hit out of 2 decks of 44), I managed to impale an apple with a card! My five difference impales can be seen below:
Out of the Blue
The most interesting thing to me is the random jump in how well I was doing. I was not able to complete my 4th goal on my timeline, which was to impale cardboard. I mean, I just barely made my 2nd goal, which was to hit a 6-inch diameter target, or my 3rd of impaling Styrofoam. Yet somehow after taking a 3-5 day break, I was able to dominate this apple, I managed to impale it halfway through my fir
st deck of 44, which surprised me a ton. I feel my improvement can be described through the diagram below:Well, I guess I am done, I have done what I set out to do and had fun while doing it. Is there no more for me to do? Obviously not, I have the resources, and I will definitely throw cards for fun in my spare time, maybe even make it an Olympic sport as one of my friends suggested, then became famous and get a gold medal (never gonna happen any other way).
Overview
There is not much I can say in the overview, but I have it on every blog so I should include it here as well. I completed my goal, just in time for the deadline as well, and now must prepare for my version of the devil's world, speaking in front of a group of people, especially people I know. Thanks for reading, and I hope to see everyone afterward to hear a descriptive summary of how I was feeling during my presentation on the next blog, have a nice day!
Hey Mitch! This blog was really interesting. The video made it much easier to see what was going on, as well as to make the blog much more visual. Additionally, you were really clear about your progress which I appreciated. If you ever do make it as an Olympic card-throwing athlete, don't forget the rest of us!
